Wild Hare Heatwave Vest

Ordered the vest and received it within a couple of days without extra cost. The vest appears well made and the zipper, usually one of the first things to fail, is a heavy duty one. Pockets are deep and will easily hold a box of 25 shells each. There is a small grommet in the bottom of each pocket which will work well with the AA hulls I reload as they do not always close complete and "leak" shot, which can now drain out easily.

This vest is made of quality material that looks great. One my first outing I received many compliments on the look and fit (adjustable so it appears fitted). Many of my larger colleagues loved the ability to adjust the waistline. It can accommodate the husky gents or fit the thicker clothes used during winter shooting. One $@$$# made the snide comment “it won’t help me pick up more clays”, to which a friend quickly chimed in “but at least he will look good doing it!”

I called the customer service number before I made my purchase and the lady I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. I shoot trap 3x week and always wear a vest. my last vest was from Beretta. My Wild Hare Heatwave Vest is a much better product. The size chart they provide is accurate and the vest is exactly as advertised. Well made and functional. Purchased a 4X sized Heatwave Mesh Vest to fit over a sweat shirt. The vest fits perfect over a sweat shirt and works well with just a tee shirt also. The vest is a little longer than my other vest (different brand) and it took a short period to get used to putting my empties in the rear bag, The front pocket did not accommodate two boxes of shells for doubles on the same side. I just dumped the shells out of the boxes and life was good. I recommend the vest to anyone shooting clay sports of any type.

The vest is very comfortable. It is made of quality materials and is well made. Could use a pocket or two more with velcro closures. Should be cool in hot weather.

Bought this to replace a Browning vest for trap, and couldn't be happier. Plenty of pockets and love the non-stretch fabric used for the spare shell holders (those always eventually get stretched out). This small 2-shell sized pocket is much better. Easy access to all pockets. Only complaint is the pocket openings - if I set a box of shells 'in the box' into the main right-hand-pocket, the opening isn't quite large enough for easy access. Makes it hard to put the spent shell hulls in the 2nd pocket. All in all, a real keeper.

Although this is a little premature, as I've not used the vest yet, I can say that it seems well built and it fits pretty good. Being a big guy, sometimes the larger sizes (4X, in this case), are just cut bigger, like a circus tent. This vest actually seems to have been put together intelligently and cut for someone that has big shoulders and chest, not just more material that forms a drape, like I'm getting a haircut. Also, I personalized it and the stitching looks great! Seems very nice for the price.''

This vest has every feature I want for skeet shooting. The pocket easily holds 25 rounds, my offside pocket carries tokens for the birds and gloves while the left upper pocket carries my earplugs and case. I like a back pocket for the hulls, and the one on this vest is easy to use. The size is spot on and the velcro adjustable side straps make a custom fit. It is comfortable in our spring weather. It looks good and, like all Wild Hare products that I own, it is quality materials and construction.
